Cinzia has more than 20 years experience as a coach, physical education teacher, and personal trainer, both in the United States and Italy. She has worked with students, athletes and clients from all age groups, all levels of fitness, and various performance goals.

Cinzia began her life-long passion for health and fitness as a young girl in Rome, Italy — where she was raised. As a child her parents enrolled her in gymnastics and she was fortunate enough to be accepted into the gym of the well known gymnastics coach Pasquale Carminucci (1960 Olympics bronze medal winner).

As Cinzia grew she developed a love for exercise and physical training. She competed in gymnastics and knew from an early age that she wanted to have a career helping others discover the joy of being in great shape.

Cinzia opened a gymnasium in 1989 Polisportiva Gianicolo, where she and her coaches brought gymnastics, aerobics, basketball, volleyball, and dance to the Gianicolo and Trastevere quarters in Rome.

Cinzia has been formally educated in many aspects of physical education instruction for adults, children and performance athletes. Her education includes formal instruction in training and teaching techniques specific to many sports, including: track and field, swimming, gymnastics, volleyball, and basketball.

Cinzia’s formal education has been centered around human physiology and athletic coaching. She attended the Istituto Superiore di Educazione Fisica (ISEF) in Rome, Italy. ISEF, now known as the Istituto Universitario di Scienze Motorie (IUSM) is a four year school in Rome designed to teach motor sciences, teaching and training techniques as they apply to sports, rehabilitation and physical development.

Cinzia followed ISEF up with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Pacific Lutheran University, where she placed a great deal of emphasis on biology and chemistry coursework as they relate to human anatomy and physiology.

Cinzia has been certified by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as a personal trainer. She chose this certifying institution because of its rigorous standards for both certification and recertification. ACSM’s professionalism is why it is known as the “gold standard” among fitness professional certification boards.

In 2006, Cinzia, along with her husband Shawn, founded CMC Personal Training Studio in Eagle River, Alaska. She currently trains clients with diverse needs ranging from the physically challenged to everyday people who want to tone and shape up to physique competitors.
