I am writing this entry with a great deal of excitement.  Once back from the NPC Fitness National Championships I began my “off season” training in preparation for my pro debut in the spring of 2011.  While training I felt very strong, both psychologically and physically, and I started wondering if I should consider moving my pro debut to this year instead.  I immediately discussed these feelings with my trainer, and I called my coach, Tanji Johnson.  After a week-long discussion with my trainer, Shawn, and couple of phone consultations with Tanji, we decided I should make my pro debut at the Europa Super Show- Dallas! http://www.ifbbpro.com/events/2010-europa-supershow-contest-information-and-competitor-list/

As of today, I am 3 weeks out from competing in my very first IFBB Pro Fitness competition and I am feeling a little emotional as I write these very words…I switched my training to pre contest immediately when I realized there was a slight chance I would enter this contest.  Back on track and looking and feeling real good for a few days now!  I am excited to reunite with some of my dear fitness friends.  I know already some of them will be able to come watch my debut and I can’t contain my joy at the tought of spending another memorable week with all of them.

My expectations for this competition aren’t all that high.  I am simply happy to be going!  Shawn is happy for me but he is also a strategist.  He wants to see what I look like on the pro stage so we can spend the winter making the neccessary improvements in order for me to be more competitive next spring.  One of the things about this sport is you never know how you are going to do until you do it.  Some times you look great in a certain class of competitors but lose ground when you put yourself up against a different class.  You are never finished improving!

This morning I also found out that Dave the “Texas Shredder” Goodin will be competing in the Europa in the 202 class.   This is exciting news too!  Dave has been around body building for a long time and he actually guest performed at my very first competition.  Ever since then, it seems like we have bumped into eachother everywhere.  We were forutnate to have Dave come up to our studio last year and hold a body building posing clinic and spend some time with us during our photo shoot and modelling clinic with photgrapher David Ford and model Annette Milbers.  Dave is a great guy, and very inspiring to me and my husband.  After a couple of decades in body building, and at the age of 51, he earned his IFBB pro card last year at the IFBB North American Championships, went on to win his class at NPC Team Universe, and even won the IFBB World Amateur Masters Championships

Before you get too impressed with this record, you should know he has also Pro Natural Mr. Universe 3 times!  It will be great to see him in Dallas.

My husband/trainer and I are looking so much forward to this as we worked so hard to make it happen financially.  So much to look forward to in the next weeks to come!  I will make sure to keep you all informed on the progress of both my training as I prepare to step on stage with the pros.
