2009 Emerald Cup – 7 Weeks out
I better get my morning cardio done! That’s all I have to say for now! Ok, I have been wanting to fill you in on a few other things that happened yesterday. Well, during my routine practice I jammed my pinky under Shawn’s foot. He was spotting me on a trick when my hand got jammed between his foot and the floor. I actually had a great routine practice, and I felt good about the progress we are making, but, although I was pretty sure I didn’t break anything, I wanted make extra sure I was ok using my hand. Shawn was teasing me today with his clients telling them how I was walking in a handstand throughout boot camp last night to make sure my pinky was not broken and I could still do my tricks. I know, not really what anyone else would do to test whether or not they have a broken finger! But maybe some of my fellow fitness competitors can relate with that urge. Silly, I know!
This morning it was definitely swollen (probably due to all of those handstands I did afterwards) and purple but tonight it is looking better; a lot less swollen and I feel a lot less pressure inside. I was supposed to train chest and shoulders early this afternoon, but decided to push my workout to tomorrow instead to give my pinky a rest. I know tomorrow I will be able to have a much better grip on those dumbbells! And push a lot stronger on my plyo push ups!
The other thing I wanted to share…my new routine outfit is in the works! I will not share much more on that, though; I will try to surprise you. I am attaching a couple of pictures of my finger. I know, Shawn will tease me that I am whining to everyone now. Oh well! Just sharing my pain with you, as I told you I would share my journey. I am sleepy now; just finished my pm cardio about 45 minutes ago. I got a load of laundry in before sitting down to write to you. Now, it’s time for night time supplements, casein and BED! A big day tomorrow!
