I have been back in Alaska since Tuesday morning. The Emerald Cup weekend was filled of many success stories, especially for the great Alaska athletes who I was honored to follow down to the Emerald City. You can find out about their great achievements by logging onto http://www.alaskmuscle.com where you can find some fun candids and stage shots of them. I really enjoyed seeing everyone backstage all excited and pumped to put on a great show! I am finally back in to the grind of my daily training schedule. I have to admit that traveling back home was tough. And I will go on explaining what happed to highlight the fact that, even under tough circumstances, I was able to stay on my diet. My first attempt to get on a plane was on Monday morning at 6:00 am. Well, that didn’t work, so after that I stayed at the airport trying to get on flight after flight until 3 pm when I decided to give it up and just put my name down on the standby list for the 11:00 pm flight. While at the airport from the morning until that early afternoon, I had to find a place to eat. I was sure I would get on that early flight so I didn’t pack extra meals (never do that!). For anyone interested, Anthony’s at the airport in Seattle can make you egg white omelettes at your liking.
I walked into Anthony’s determined I would find what I needed it for my diet. I nicely asked for all of the substitutions and they made me two egg white omletes with spinach. I ate one there, yummy! and the other a few hours later. Luckly, Tanji was kind enough to come pick me up from the the airport to take me to her house. I didn’t get a chance to really workout or do much for my training, except for resting a little and cooking a few meals. All of my things had already been checked in on the early morning flight. Eventually, I got on the 11:40 pm flight. Once in my seat, one of the orange vest maintenance guys came aboard, walked up and down the isle and then, as he got closer and closer to my seat… picked ME to tell me to get out of my seat. He went on to fix some problems with My seat before we took off. I couldn’t believe it had to be my seat out of all the seats on the plane, MINE! When I finally landed in Ancghorage I was so happy to see my two Seans and my dog Jack!
On Tuesday, I worked out and did my cardio, but yesterday, my tired body started telling me to slow down, so I took some much needed time off. A talk with a friend and the endless support of my husband helped me get through a tough day at work and with my inner self. I am blessed to have so many people who love me and appreciate me for who I am. I just have to remember it more often, and try not to be so hard on myself and the people I love. Today, I am at it again. Did my early morning cardio, just finished my favorite meal of the day, breakfast! Egg white omelette with fat free cheese and salsa. Time for some catching up here at home, and I will be heading to the studio to workout chest and shoulders at 1:00. I Will focus on explosive training keeping Tanji’s explosive push ups in my mind the whole time! A second cardio session is on my training schedule starting today. So, you can rest assured, I will get on that cardio once boot camp is over tonight. Those boot campers are my motivation at the end of the day, they all work so hard and are all doing so well!
